We have a contract with a CMR (Certified Marketing Representative – aka National Yellow Page Placement Agency), do we have to switch?
HCCG works with both local and national advertisers. When a client places their yellow pages through a CMR we work with the CMR on behalf of our client. Think of HCCG as an extension of your marketing department that focuses on yellow pages. You will still sign all contracts from the CMR and your billing for yellow page advertising will continue to come from your CMR.

How are you different from a CMR?
A CMR is a sales channel for all publishers who belong to Yellow Page Association (YPA). Often referred to as "National" the CMR handles yellow page placements for large accounts that meet the criteria set forth by the YPA; 20 or more directories, 3 or more states, 2 or more publishers and 30% of your advertising dollars must be spent outside of your primary state. All qualifying advertisers must be owned by the same entity (some rules changed over the years regarding these criteria). CMRs are compensated by the publisher anywhere from 10% to upwards of 30%. They are incentivized for increases and penalized for decreases.

HCCG works on behalf of the advertiser. We work exclusively with healthcare providers. We are current with healthcare trends and attend the same continuing education conferences and seminars that affect the industry we serve. HCCG works with both local and national advertisers of all sizes; small rural physician practices to large multi-state healthcare systems. We have assisted over 450 healthcare providers spanning the past ten years and have saved millions of dollars for them to reinvest in their marketing budget. Our focus is on ensuring directory advertising encompasses market-specific directories, applicable headings, appropriate ad size and clean, concise copy. What do your charge for your services?
HCCG is contingency fee based. After we complete your no-cost, no-obligation assessment we prescribe our services that meet your needs and project HCCG fees based on the findings.

How much can you save me in my placements? What kind of discounts are you able to get?
Let us clear up an industry myth. There are no "discounts" in yellow pages. There are Incentive Buys (rate reductions on certain item codes that are predicated on an increase in placement sometimes called Step-up plans); Pre-pay Discounts from some publishers and occasions when a CMR will give "discounts" that are actually a share of the commission they receive on the placement.

HCCG does not offer any special discounts; every program we place on behalf of our clients is designed to be cost-efficient and effective in supporting your marketing and communication objectives.

We work with a "Letter of Agency", submitted to the publishers and CMRs on your letterhead. Your request to assign HCCG as your authorized negotiator in the yellow pages buy must be honored by both publisher and CMR.

  • HCCG works for you, the advertiser (typically compensated by a share of savings, costing you nothing out of pocket).
  • The Publisher sales representatives work for and are compensated by the publishers
  • The CMRs work for the publishers, and are compensated based on the amount of advertising you place.
